Four villages and one town in Xiangxi win provincial honors

Hangtuo Village in Jilyue Township of Jishou City, Xinzhaiping Village in Tanxi Town of Luxi County, Xinke Village in Malichang Town of Huayuan County, and Guocha Village in Hulu Town of Baojing County were shortlisted for the sixth batch of key villages for rural tourism in Hunan, and Lingxi Town in Yongshun County was shortlisted for the fourth batch of key towns for rural tourism in Hunan released by Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism on December 12.

In recent years, Hangtuo Village has developed rural tourism based on Miao culture through online and offline activities such as deep mountain concerts.

Xinzhaiping Village is a traditional Chinese village with clusters of ancient trees, including over 100 century-old trees. In recent years, it has developed homestay inns converted from idle traditional dwellings, attracting many tourists for vacation.

Xinke Village has also developed planting and breeding industries such as yellow peaches, Chinese dates, and frogs. It has won honors like “Beautiful Rural Demonstration Village in Xiangxi Prefecture” and “Leisure Agriculture Demonstration Farm in Hunan”. It is an ideal place for tourists to enjoy flowers, pick fruits, and experience rural life.

There are large areas of ancient tea gardens from the Ming and Qing dynasties in Guocha Village. The village has over 15,000 mu (1,000 hectares) of Baojing Golden Tea. It is the best choice for tourists to experience the tea culture of Xiangxi.

Lingxi Town has a variety of tourist attractions such as the Site of Laosicheng Tusi Domain, Buermen National Forest Park, Shuangfeng Village, and Chenjiapo.
